A Night In Venice

Cousins Jacques-Yves (Le Comte de Havre de Grace) and Bartolomeo are traveling
the world for the holidays. Bartolomeo is in love with an enchanting water sprite
whom he met briefly - for a night of passion followed by many letters in a
long-distance romance. They are in Barto's family palazzo in Venice, and the talk
has turned to matters of the heart.

Barto: We have enough time before the
party. Shall we visit that little shop near San
Marco?

JY: Ah, another shopping trip to find the
perfect gift for the lady! Ladies are easy to
shop for. A bauble, a painting...something
sentimental.
Barto: My lady is not so common. She is unique,
and her tastes might not be the same as a mortal
woman.

JY: You have a point. What would a water
elemental desire? She has a long life and pearls
to dive for.

Barto: I liked that white dress.

JY: The foofy one with the ruffles and bows?
Beautiful, but it would overwhelm Euphoria's
delicate features.
Barto: *sigh* What lovely gem or painted fan or
exquisite lace would show her how much I miss
her? She made this necklace for me with her own
white fingers.
Morganna Fey - Silly men. No gem or fan can
give her what she really wants - YOU! Pack
your bags and go to Cahleeforneeah.

JY: Mon Dieu, c'est vrai!

Barto: Oh, let's push our schedule up and
leave immediately!
JY: Ah, we will be there in January. By
then, my cousin, you must have a man's
heart to offer her.

Morganna Fey: A dalliance with a young
man is all very well, but Bartolomeo - she is
a woman and we immortals are fierce
lovers. Give yourself this time out in the
world to know yourself and when you next
see her, you will know in a moment if the
two of you are meant to be together.
Barto: I vow to be with you, my love, when
the year is new.
JY: I am bored of this! Bartolomeo used to be
such fun! I miss my friend Zephyr. Perhaps he
will join us on our next leg of the journey and
shake you out of your malaise.

Barto: *shrugs his shoulders as if tossing off his
worry* You're both right! Now, let us go to that
wonderful little shop that had the green and blue
that fit like skin. I fancy seeing my love rising out
of the sea in that!
Jaques-Yves: D'accord, mon cousin!
When in doubt, think of sex.
